Acceptable Use Policy
What may not be sold, sent, or done through the platform.
EZBookings · Last updated
1. Prohibited conduct
- Making bookings you do not intend to keep, or paying with a card you are not authorized to use.
- Attempting to access data belonging to another client, another business, or the platform itself.
- Probing, scanning, or load-testing the service without written permission. Good-faith security research reported to [email protected] is welcome and is not a breach of this rule.
- Scraping, mirroring, or reselling the service or the data in it.
- Interfering with the service - flooding it with requests, circumventing rate limits, or forging identifiers.
- Harassing a business's staff or other users through booking notes, support tickets, or replies to messages.
- Uploading anything unlawful, deceptive, or that infringes someone else's rights.
2. What businesses may not offer
- Anything that requires a license you do not hold - alcohol, cannabis, tobacco, nicotine, prescription medicines.
- Items misdescribed as to ingredients, allergens, weight, or origin.
- Anything you are not permitted to sell for off-premises consumption under your local health rules.
- Anything that is not an appointment your business performs, where offering it would misrepresent what the client is paying for.
You are responsible for holding every license, permit, registration and insurance your trade and your jurisdiction require, including any cosmetology, barbering, esthetics or massage license. We do not verify them and their absence is your liability, not ours.
3. Email
Emailing people who did not give you their address through our checkout is the most serious breach in this document, because the damage is not limited to the sender. Complaints and bounces are measured across the sending domain, so one bought or scraped list can get every business's appointment confirmations filtered. It results in immediate suspension of email.
Also prohibited: ignoring an unsubscribe, disguising who a message is from, misleading subject lines, and using the service to send anything unrelated to your business - loans, gambling, firearms, controlled substances, or any message designed to evade spam filtering.
4. What happens if you breach it
Depending on severity: a warning, withdrawal of a single capability such as messaging or card payments, suspension of the account, or termination and a report to law enforcement. Report a breach to [email protected].
Where we withdraw a capability from a business, we record what was withdrawn and why, and the record is kept rather than deleted when it is lifted - because that record is what answers the billing question afterwards.
